About Us
Aldert Root Elementary opened in 1958. It was named after Dr. Aldert Root who was a Raleigh physician who served as North Carolina's first medical inspector starting in 1914 and is recognized as the state's first pediatrician.
Root's motto is: "Work Hard, Be Kind." This means we want all of our students to try their best to learn, even when the work is hard and to always treat everyone with respect and care.
